چکیده

Background Clinical microscopists are at a greater risk of developing binocular vision anomalies and asthenopia.
Objective To assess the refractive status to explore association between presence asthenopic symptoms microscopy work among clinical working medical laboratory department.
Method This cross-sectional study involved 37 department Dhulikhel Hospital, Nepal. The was conducted from January December 2013. Only those participants who had been using microscope for least year were enrolled in this study. Each participant underwent distance visual acuity (VA) assessment, refractions, orthoptic evaluation, including measurement near phoria, point convergence (NPC), accommodation (NPA), positive fusional vergence (PFV), adduction, calculation convergence/accommodation (AC/A) ratio. tear test also carried out each subject. Information about use glasses, (duration, time spent per day microscope), associated with such as eye strain, headache, double vision, collected.
Result mean age 29 ± 5.7 years. prevalence error 56.76% spherical equivalent (SE) -0.77 0.86 D. Refractive neither correlation it, nor parameters- NPC, AA AC/A However, there work. There statistically significant difference symptomatic asymptomatic subjects parameters, (PFV) near.
Conclusion Microscopy has an impact on vision. Asthenopic bear no either works or symptoms.

Prevalence of Non Strabismic Binocular Vision Disorders in Patients with Asthenopia

Non strabismic binocular vision disorders are highly prevalent conditions. Patients report to eye care practitioners with symptoms of eyestrain, headaches, blurred vision etc. These conditions are generally missed out unless a complete orthoptic and binocular vision examination is performed. Treatment of these conditions is very successful with vision therapy, lenses and prisms. Successful trea...

distribution of binocular vision anomalies and refractive errors in iranian children with learning disabilities

conclusions the pattern of visual impairment in learning-impaired children is not much different from that in normal children; however, because these children may not be able to express themselves clearly, lack of correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment has resulted in a marked defect in recognizing visual disorders in these children. therefore, gaining knowledge of the prevalence of refrac...

Frequency of asthenopia and its association with refractive errors

Methods: In this cross-sectional practice-based study, the clinic records of 1109 school-aged children (mean age and standard deviation 14.39 ± 3.39 years) were analysed. The sample comprised 427 (38.5%) male and 682 (61.5%) female patients between the ages of 6 and 19 years. Refractive errors were classified into various types, and the association between these refractive types and symptoms in...

Amblyopia and binocular vision.

Amblyopia is the most common cause of monocular visual loss in children, affecting 1.3%-3.6% of children. Current treatments are effective in reducing the visual acuity deficit but many amblyopic individuals are left with residual visual acuity deficits, ocular motor abnormalities, deficient fine motor skills, and risk for recurrent amblyopia. Using a combination of psychophysical, electrophysi...
